AccessHE is the pan-London organisation that aims to support the progression of under-represented groups to higher education (HE). It does this by enabling HE institutions (HEIs), schools and colleges to achieve their objectives on widening access to HE more efficiently and effectively.
The AccessHE vision embodies our commitment to greater equality in access to HE.
Higher Education can be accessed by everyone in London who has the ability and desire to attend, regardless of their background or characteristics.
Who we are
AccessHE is part of London Higher, the umbrella organisation for HEIs in London. AccessHE was founded in 2011 after the end of Aimhigher in London. It is self-sustaining and not funded by government.
AccessHE has a steering group reporting to the London Higher Board which is made up of representatives from the HE, school and college sectors. It is managed by a small team with specialist skills in developing and delivering access to HE.
AccessHE is funded by subscriptions primarily from HEIs, but also schools and colleges in London. It currently has 27 HEIs as members in 2013-14 and over 40 schools and colleges.
