Student Advisory Group
In 2015, eager to better engage with students directly, AccessHE set up the Student Advisory Group.
Student Advisors ensure student representation is embedded at every level of the decision making process within the organisation. Student Advisors are an important and essential way of listening to the student voice.
The role of Student Advisors:
- Attending and participating in the AccessHE Student Advisory Group meetings (3 times per academic year)
- Reflecting the wider views of their cohort, identifying student issues and raising them at the relevant meetings, working with relevant staff to find solutions
- Sharing knowledge of what it is like to be a current student in Higher Education coming from a widening participation background
- Identifying areas of good practice in order to make sure that these continue and expand.
The Student Advisory Group is currently organising a student-delivered access event which will be taking place during AccessHE Week 2016.
