Closing the attainment gap – students co-produce IAG

June 24, 2016

Over the last two months, AccessHE has been holding workshops at eight member HEIs to improve IAG for students from black, asian and minority ethnic groups.

Following the focus groups research which was undertaken earlier in the year, AccessHE was able to present the findings to the students themselves. This information, coupled with each institution sharing areas of their own practice they wish to improve, gave the students an opportunity to redesign the way in which IAG was constructed in their respective institutions.

Seven of these workshops have now taken place and partner institutions are currently planning and implementing the work as suggested by the students.

The workshop groups will reconvene over the next month in order for the students to provide ongoing consultation.
