Disability forum
This forum meeting will include:
- – a discussion to share challenges, advice (and potential collaborative outputs) in delivering models of inclusive support (considering HEFCE’s recent Models of support for students with disabilities report);
- – a report on the University Information Day for Disabled and Dyslexic Learners, held on Friday 3 November 2017; and
- – a paper exploring initial findings from the outreach with disabled learners and inclusive practices member survey.
Please see the draft agenda. Papers and a final agenda will be sent a week in advance of the meeting.
‘Case surgery’ (1-2pm)
Provided there is suitable interest from forum members, the meeting will be preceded by a ‘case surgery’ session from 1-2pm exploring inclusive support. As noted within the attached minutes from the October meeting, we are asking 2-3 members to present on an anonymised complex case; the forum would then discuss their thoughts and the options associated with each, with a view to sharing examples of best practice for individual students or institution-wide disability practice. If you are interested in sharing a case during this session, please contact sam.turner@londonhigher.ac.uk as soon as possible.
If you are unable to attend or to send a colleague in your place you can send your apologies by emailing sam.turner@londonhigher.ac.uk.
