Looked After Children Forum

This meeting will officially welcome our new chair to the forum, Lucia Byrne from St Mary’s University, Twickenham.  Building on the discussion at the previous forum meeting, the group will begin by reviewing a draft of a generic consent to share agreement, ensuring it is fit for purpose and agree how it may be used in practice. Planning will then continue for the delivery of a ‘Life after university’ event, due to take place in the Autumn term, with the aim of providing information to care leaver students leaving HE. Supporting care leavers into, through and out of HE is the role of many practitioners and having previously agreed to develop a resource detailing the rights and entitlements of care leavers, the group will have a broader discussion on what resources currently exist and how best to signpost practitioners to relevant information.

A draft agenda can be found here.
