Looked After Children Forum

This forum are running an event for care leavers currently in higher education in November and so the meeting will begin by reviewing the programme for this.  As we confirm speakers, we will discuss the focus of the panel session and how best to market the event to the target audience.  This group have worked with different groups of care experienced and independent students, who all require additional support in accessing and progressing in higher education.  During this meeting we will share feedback from the Stand Alone workshop addressing support for estranged students and the Refugee Support Network training looking at access to higher education for refugees and asylum seekers.  As we look ahead to the forum’s priorities for next academic year, it will be important to consider how we can support these different groups of students in our work.  We will also receive an update from the National Network for the Education of Care Leavers (NNECL).

A draft agenda can be found here.
