Jack Abbotts – AccessHE Graduate Intern

September 29, 2016

My name is Jack Abbotts and I joined AccessHE two weeks ago and will be taking the position of Graduate Intern. My academic background is in the social sciences, having completed a degree in International Politics at the University of Liverpool and subsequently a Masters in International Development: Poverty, Conflict and Reconstruction, which was undertaken at the University of Manchester. For the following year I worked in Events Management, in my home city of Manchester, but I felt the time was right to try something new and moving to London to work in the widening participation field appealed greatly to me. In my new role at AccessHE I will be taking on responsibilities such as arranging meetings, compiling AccessHE’s weekly E-bulletins and assisting at AccessHE Action Forums. Action Forums are held periodically and cover five subject matters: Disability, Looked after Children, Arts and Design, Evidence and Evaluation and Student Ambassadors. All in all I have been made to feel very welcome in my first two weeks and I can’t wait to continue my career with AccessHE.
