May 25, 2017

We are delighted to welcome Kay Zantis, who joined the AccessHE team last month as our Uni Connect Schools Officer. Kay brings a wealth of experience to the role with eight years of experience within the school improvement service and 14-19 team at Enfield local authority. As the 14-19 Development Officer she supported schools, colleges and training providers with 14-19 students  Prior to that, she worked in a 11-19 comprehensive school in Enfield. She is an experienced assistant head teacher with many years as Director of Post-16 education with curriculum, pastoral and line management experience. In new her role, Kay will lead on delivery of Uni Connect activities in secondary schools in the boroughs of Barking & Dagenham and Havering.

The Uni Connect pilot programme is now well underway and Kay, along with colleagues from our Uni Connect partner HEIs, has already been delivering to students from the schools involved. As part of the pilot programme, we are planning to run two events for all young people involved with the programme in our partner schools. These will be held on 20th and 23rd June and will see students from across the schools come together to visit a university campus and hear more about HE.
