Student Ambassador Conference 2016

Yesterday, GSM London hosted the second AccessHE Student Ambassador Conference 2016, an event for ambassadors by ambassadors.  The evening
was a great success with over 40 attendees from studentsten Higher Education Institutions including Brunel University London, University of Greenwich, University of Hull, Kingston University London, London Metropolitan University, London School of Economics and Political Science, Middlesex University London, Pearson College London, Ravensbourne, and University of Sussex.

Student ambassadors started the evening by running their own icebreakers, getting to know each other and appreciating the range of courses and institutions represented in allgroupthe room.  The group
then selected two of three workshops which allowed the students to share their expertise and experience of the role. The workshops covered a course ambassador scheme run by Middlesex University London, advice from LSE on engaging under 18 year olds and the University of Greenwich offering support on delivering STEM workshops and mentoring.

Ambassadors enjoyed networking and connecting with their peers and found the event fun and insightful.  The evening culminated in a presentation from careers colleagues at GSM London encouraging the ambassadors to harness their experience when applying for jobs in the future.
