Stand Alone

May 10, 2016

Last week AccessHE was pleased to host a workshop with Stand Alone, a charity supporting young adults who are no longer in contact or estranged from their families. The organisation is currently working with the student population to help better define the needs of young people who are studying in higher education without the support of a family network.

We were joined by representatives from Brunel University London, City University London, Kingston University London and London Metropolitan University and the workshop was a great success.  Practitioners worked collaboratively to develop tools which will help institutions define, identifying and support estranged students, especially those that have not been classified by Student Finance England (SFE).
