Our vision embodies our commitment to greater equality in HE access and participation. We are driven by the fundamental belief that Higher Education and the opportunity it provides can, and should, be accessed by anyone who has the ability and desire to attend, regardless of their background, circumstance or characteristics.

Founded in 2011 and a key division of London Higher, AccessHE is the pan-London network driving the HE access, success and progression agenda for underrepresented learners across the capital.

We work to ensure that students from underrepresented learner groups can access, succeed in and progress out of higher education. Our team does this by adopting a full student lifecycle approach (access — retention — success — progression) to the development and delivery of collaborative projects, events, research and other initiatives which enable our Member HE institutions (HEIs), Advocates network of schools, colleges, local authorities and sector partners to achieve their objectives more efficiently and effectively.

In line with HE sector developments and access and participation targets set for HEIs by the HE regulator in England, the Office For Students (OfS), our work is taking an increased focus on the ‘progression’ stage of the student lifecycle. As such, we are keen to work closely with employers on various projects.

Steering Group

AccessHE has a Steering Group, reporting to the London Higher Board, comprised of representatives from the HE, school and college sectors. As a self-sustaining, membership-based organisation, AccessHE is primarily funded through Member HEI subscriptions. AccessHE currently has 20+ HEI Members and supports an Advocates network of 200+ schools and colleges.
