AccessHE Schools Strategy Forum

February 24, 2017

The AccessHE Schools Strategy Forum is set to meet on 29 March and it will be the first in a series of events with a new format. The aim of the Schools Strategy Forum is to give schools a strategic voice in the capital and to increase the understanding of the challenges they face in widening access to HE. The meetings facilitate discussion on how schools and HEIs can work together to support the progression of young people from under-represented groups into Key Stage 5 and HE. After appointing a new Chair, this is now an exciting time for the group, with the opportunity to shape the future of HE and schools work as we await the outcome of the consultation on the recent Green Paper on school selection.

From March onwards, Schools Strategy Forum meetings are to be held at AccessHE member institutions and members of the group, drawn from schools and local authorities across London, will be given the chance to experience a tour of the institution before the meeting begins. The forum on 29 March is being hosted by LSBU and a subsequent meeting at UCL has been scheduled for July.
