AccessHE Looked After Children Practitioners’ Event April 2015

AccessHE Looked After Children Practitioners’ Event

A FREE conference for staff within educational institutions and local authority colleagues with responsibility for the attainment and progression to HE of Looked After Children.

The keynote speakers for this conference have now been confirmed. AccessHE is pleased to announce that delegates will hear from Matthew Brazier, National Lead for Looked After Children at Ofsted and Carrie Wilson from The Care Leavers’ Association.

The event will focus on the importance of collaboration to aid the progression to HE of Looked After Children and care leavers. Colleagues will have the opportunity to network as they explore how to support this group in their educational journey to HE and learn about some of the successful projects which have been delivered to address this. The following organisations have been invited to deliver workshops at the event: The Refugee Support Network, The Who Cares? Trust and Kate Cairns Associates.

Delegates will include virtual school heads, designated Looked After Children teachers, careers teachers and/or advisors, widening participation practitioners in HEIs, social workers and staff from local authorities.
