Disability e-Forum

The next meeting of the AccessHE Disability e-Forum will take place via Zoom from 2-3pm on Thursday 4th June 2020.

This is the first Disability forum meeting to take place since AccessHE moved its forums online in response to the coronavirus outbreak. We would therefore like to dedicate time in the meeting to considering what impact covid-19 is having on the ability of HE providers and other stakeholders in London to engage with and support students with disabilities and hidden conditions.

AGENDA

  • Welcome and reminder about e-forums + AccessHE Communities
  • Discussion:what are the priorities, concerns and challenges for members working with students with disabilities and hidden conditions in the current climate?
Ahead of the meeting and via the ‘Colleagues Chat’ channel of the AccessHE Disability Forum team on Microsoft Teams, members and partners are encouraged to submit questions, ideas, practices and resources on the challenges and opportunities presented in the current situation to support a wider discussion.
  • Discussion: Delivering Disability Support Services Remotely, with focus on mental health and assistive technology
A discussion on how HEI’s can provide remote support in the immediate term and crucially, ensure “continued support” to embed accessibility, post-pandemic.
  • Forum priorities for the remainder of AY2019-20
An opportunity for members to share ideas and suggestions for future topics to explore in the remaining e-Forum meeting (July) / in the Microsoft Teams community of practice.
  • AOB and close

If you are able to attend, please register by 10am on Thursday 4th June 2020. If you are unable to attend or to send a colleague in your place you can send your apologies by privately messaging Tanyel via MS Teams or e-mailing tanyel.kazim@londonhigher.ac.uk.
