Mature and Part-Time Students Forum
This Action Forum meeting will (likely) feature:
Discussion – community outreach and the M&PT forum
The OfS has made transforming opportunities for adults in higher education a priority for 2020, and lifelong learning was a theme of the recent general election campaign as well as of several recent, high-profile reports (e.g. the Centenary Commission Report on Adult Education). This discussion will consider how, in this context, the forum can engage with partners in London to promote and deliver lifelong learning opportunities and pathways to all in the community.
Best practice sharing – taster options for mature students
Attendees are kindly requested to gather examples of successful taster options delivered to mature/p-t students at their institutions to share with the forum.
Mature student spotlight
Current students from the AccessHE membership to talk to the forum about their experiences as mature students.
External speaker – Dr Mary Mahoney, University of Wolverhampton
Dr Mahoney will share information on UALL and on the work of the Centre for Lifelong Learning at the University of Wolverhampton.
Please find a draft agenda here.
If you are able to attend, please register by 10am on Thursday 30 January 2020. If you are unable to attend or to send a colleague in your place you can send your apologies by emailing tanyel.kazim@londonhigher.ac.uk. A final agenda and any papers will be sent a week in advance of the meeting.
