Looked After Children forum

At the start of the meeting, colleagues will be asked to review the current terms of reference for the forum.  This consultative forum has to date been for those working to support progression to Higher Education (HE) for looked after children and care leavers and had largely referred to domestic individuals under the care of their local authority.  In recent meetings, the group has sought to expand its remit and has expressed its interest in working with foster carers, refugees and unaccompanied asylum seeker children.  In addition, although different by definition but with striking similarities, estranged students have also been discussed and the forum will be joined by the CEO from Stand Alone who will discuss with colleagues about how to extend their current support to this group of students.  The group will also receive updates across the areas of work being taken forward through this forum, including the Life After University event being delivered in November.

A draft agenda can be found here.

If you would like to attend the meeting, please register your attendance by clicking below and filling out the form. Booking closes at 5pm on Monday 10 October 2016.
