AccessHE London Uni Connect Programme

February 3, 2017

AccessHE has received funding to deliver part of the London Uni Connect. The Uni Connect Programme is a HEFCE funded project aiming to increase the number of young people from lower participation neighbourhoods in higher education by 2020.

AccessHE will be working as part of a London consortium in partnership with Linking London and Aimhigher London South to support learners in the 13 London target wards identified by HEFCE data as having high social deprivation and lower than expected numbers of learners progressing to higher education based on GCSE attainment.

The programme is funded for an initial period of two years until December 2018 and AccessHE will be working with our member HEIs to deliver a programme of outreach activities to learners in schools in the London Boroughs of Barking and Dagenham and Havering, where several of the identified target wards are located. The programme will aim to  increase awareness of opportunities available in higher education and support learners to make informed decisions about their futures.

We are currently developing this programme with our Uni Connect partners and are hoping to begin delivery to our first cohorts of learners within the coming months. If you would like to find out more about the AccessHE Uni Connect, please contact Naz Khan at naz.khan@londonhigher.ac.uk.
