One of the elements of the AccessHE Creative network is to provide continuous professional development to support teachers in schools and colleges.

On 20 October, we held our first free event for teachers and advisers.  Working to address local needs, the event took place in East London at the Brady Arts and Community Centre, where we focused on portfolios.

Colleagues from Ravensbourne and Kingston University London, gave advice on what to include in a portfolio and show reel, with emphasis on a student developing their work outside of the classroom and their current studies.  Those in attendance were strongly encouraged to highlight to their students the importance of having access to their work, whether through their social media accounts or on their mobile phone.  Student ambassadors also gave us an energetic presentation about their experiences and journey into higher education.
