Life After University 2019 (for care-experienced and estranged students)

Are you a care leaver, care-experienced or estranged student studying at a London university? Do you have questions or concerns about the future? Not quite sure what will happen during ‘life after university?’

Time: 10:30 – 16:00 approx.

Location: Hendon Town Hall, Committee Room 2, The Burroughs, NW4 4BG / Middlesex University London.

Life After University (FREE to attend, including lunch and refreshments) is an event for care-experienced/estranged students from universities across London. You will come together with organisations, employers and fellow students/alumni to develop skills, knowledge and confidence to help you make a successful transition into independent living after university.

We have lots of exciting sessions planned around finding and sustaining employment or further study, rights and entitlements, building confidence when applying for jobs, finding accommodation, using your voice for change, health & wellbeing and more.

Sessions include:

– Smart Works and Suited & Booted offering advice and appointments on job interviews

– Become on rights & entitlements and managing emotions

– Drive Forward Foundation on using your voice to make change

– Middlesex University London staff workshops on employability, resilience and well-being

– Sessions and networking with employers in the financial services, science/engineering and public sector

– Staff and alumni from a number of AccessHE member universities
